Today I did not sleep at all during the night. I think I need some extra 12 hours in order to have the basic done. And when I do find the time I spend it in stupid hobbies, like the sewing I 've never learned how to do it. Or the search for the best bob haircut ever for hours. I guess it's my mind that needs a way out, an escape more than my body needs the sleep. Usually these sleepless nights happen after a very full day
But sleep less nights demand for heavy portions of carbs in order to function in the morning, which means cheating on my meal plan and bingeing. Today I ate on plus two chocolate cookies and a cheese dumbling at home. I don't know how this issue can be considered with initiative eating. I would appreciate your opinion.

@Eleni007 I've also started to police myself with my time on turning everything off and taking melatonin to sleep. If I don't, then I will not sleep and if I don't sleep then I'm not strong enough to overcome the urges. The physical craving is very very strong. So if you realize that just by sleeping really good that craving goes away, you will want to make sleep your number one priority.

Even if you have others that you need to take care of. If you don't take care of yourself first, then you can't take care of them. And nobody expects you to take care of someone else at the expense of your own life. Your life is just as valuable as anyone else's and deserves to be lived as much as anyone else's.

You can start implementing one thing at a time. First thing is to turn off all internet things. You can leave your phone on but put it in the other room. My time is always 10 p.m. So whatever time you decide, stick to it. I used to take 9 mg of melatonin and in about a week I'm going to go up to 10. It takes a good hour and a half to really put me to sleep. Doesn't work for everybody but if you're not taking it you might try. Start with one and work your way up and give it a chance to work.

You can Google good sleep ideas and they will give you all kinds of recommendations.

I had to buy a new bed, I had to block out my window so that bright light wouldn't shine in all the time. I know some people get up before the sun comes up but I'm not one of those people.

Hope some of that helps. I will tell you that it happened to me today. No sleep equaled craving a brownie. If not for that I would have been fine. That's why I know how important sleep is.

Peace ;-))
