I'm new to this site. I'm a 18 yr old female in and am struggling a lot more recently with anxiety. I have friends that struggle with mental illness but not any that struggle with anxiety to the extent that I do. I'll be seeing a new specialist soon but I've been thinking and decided it would just be nice to listen to and maybe communicate with others dealing with similar issues. Sometimes my brain freezes up so much that I do not even feel like myself. I just feel like a processing machine that can't act normal and/or casually have a conversation. Idek if that makes sense but it's the best way I can describe when I have a moment of intense anxiety. I know a lot of the things that trigger me and are irrational and I have coping methods, but sometimes I just can't get it through my brain that nothing bad is going on and there is no reason to react the way I am. Just curious if anyone else deals with the same thing!:)

@CKBlossom That's a really good idea. I was actually thinking of bringing my journal I've been writing in.

@maryl8899 That's a great idea! Just remember, the first therapist may or may not be a great fit, don't give up if they aren't.
