Hello, I'm new to this group. I was hoping I could meet people who also struggled with anxiety. Lately, my anxiety has been about driving. It just makes me feel isolated from everyone else. Can anyone relate?

It took a lot of therapy to be where I am. You are not alone. We are all here for you.

Feb 13Hi MO2023, you are very brave just by coming here and sharing your experience. Anxiety can be a crippling thing. As Krashtian said, it takes time and effort, but you will get there. I would add to what others have said that you also need to rationalise your fears. What I mean by this is that you should think about what do you fear and understand it. I did not have anxiety for driving per se, but my fear was that if I got into a car I would somehow have a heart attack. Now, how likely is it that if I stay in my couch nothing happens, but as soon as I get in the car and leave my house I would die? Think about your fears, what is it? Driving, yes, but what is it about driving? You are in the right path. This community is great, you should also get a therapist. Thank you for coming here.

Feb 13One more thing, you will see that I use the word fear a lot. That is because in essence anxiety is fear. Is like fear that is slightly less potent or present, but it stays there and wears you down over time. Makes you tired. It is the drop that over time makes a hole in the stone. It is frustrating, but you learn to control it.
