My name is Allison. I am 23. I live in Central New York. I have struggled with an eating disorder (technically ED-NOS, but more along the lines of anorexia) since I was 16 years old and have struggled with self-injury since I was 14. I also struggle with depression and anxiety and some trauma issues. My commitment to recovery really started in September of 2009 when I began treatment at Well of GRACE Ministries, which discontinued its residential program in December due to lack of funding (it was a free program so they relied totally on donations). Since then I have been in treatment at Magnolia Creek and also had a brief stay in the psych ward. I am now home and am now working with a wonderful new therapist. I currently live with both my parents, my 25-yr-old sister, my 21-yr-old brother (when he's not at college), and my 10 year old brother. I have been in college since Fall of 2004 until I took a medical leave in November 2008. That's all a long story. My current major, if you're wondering, is Humanities & Social Sciences--but don't be fooled, it's just a glorified general studies degree. I don't really know what I want to do for a career, but probably something with kids, because I love kids. I'm Roman Catholic, and my faith is really important to me. This is getting rather long, so anything else you want to know, just ask.
