I am optimistic abou this since the first round of every three weeks of chemo was not working, Which I had 3 rounds before we changed to doing every 2 weeks I got thru the first 2 ok, but then started more and more having issues with my kidneys where they hold off chemo, the 3rd round of the 2 weeks treatments was put off due to being just sick. But had that done. Did the test and he said it was looking good, but then the last 3 rounds of treatments have been about a month apart for each of them due to having to wait for the kidneys to get back in range to do the chemo. My onco. is doubtful some due to the 3 weeks treatments did not do anything I actually got worse. But with the two weeks that was working, but since I had to put the last 3 rounds off for so long in between he is not sure it will work. How long after you all finished chemo did you do your pet test. Part of me does not want to do it, but the other part wants me to know if all this hell I went thru more mentally was worth it. So I am kind of thinking of putting the test off. But the doc wants to do it asap. Let me know the time frame some of you got the scan done after your last chemo? Thanks
K9, always look at tests, scans included as giving your doc vauable info for your doc to know what to do next. Remember there are lots of combos of drugs so if these don't work they will find the right combo. Do the scan as soon as your doc wants in order to help him help you. KB
I did the scan right away. That way you will get immediate feed back and you can stop worrying.
I am not as knowledgeable as others here (about this disease) but I do know that "watch and wait" is only for some slow growing indolent lymphomas. It sounds like you are not in the "watch and wait" stage, so you should get a scan to see where you are.
But again, Rascal and Kathy know more than me, so I guess I just trust their opinion.
