perimenopause constant spotting and light bleeding
Does anyone have constant light bleeding and spotting? It is terrifying. I went to the emergency room because no clinics would see me- they said any kind of vaginal bleeding is an emergency situation. I was given a pelvic exam and told that there is nothing wrong, it is just symptoms of perimenopause. I also have pain in my coccyx area and was told that it is from aging, a nerve doing something funny. The symptoms of cervical cancer are constant bleeding and pain in the coccyx area! I am so scared that I have cancer even though the doctors told me everything looked healthy and the fluid test and swab test showed no abnormalities. The doctors said they know what anything wrong in the reproductive organs looks like and mine all looked healthy. That does not make me feel any better- what if they are wrong. It is just not normal to bleed constantly and have pain; how can it be possible that the two are not related? I have read on searches that constant bleeding is very common, but I have also read that constant bleeding and pain are symptoms of cancer. Does anyone else have this going on, or has anyone else gone through it? Bleeding is supposed to stop at menopause, not go on forever. I am 48, never had children.
Any shared experiences would be greatly appreciated.
the bleeding has been going on for two months. For the past year I have had my period every two or three months, and they were not as heavy or long as they usually are. My last period two months ago was a short one, not as heavy as usual, and then it turned into very light constant bleeding, enough to wear a pad but not a tampon, it would take about three days to soak the pad. But of course I change it because it is smelly. When I use the bathroom, the blood drips like a faucet then stops dripping and goes back to constant spotting. Will it ever end? And what is the blood- is it endometrial blood, cervix blood, vaginal blood? I have read that the vaginal walls bleed during perimenopause, they begin to atrophy and that makes it bleed. But 24 hours a day for months on end? It is just scary.
