hello im new to this group. my gramma had dementia and she passedaway. she stopped eatting could not remember anything, and she slept a lot. she was in her own world. she was loving but did not know who you ere. i miss her but she is in a better place. my other gramma is getting it to. she hears voives and she is really mean. she cant remember things and she is 97. and finally, my dad is heading that way to. his memory is awhil.
Shannon, I'm sorry, my mom has dementia too. It's very sad. My mom is angry and blames everything on me. My brother and cousin tell her everything is my fault, so I don't even get to see my mom anymore.
Shannon, I'm so sorry for all that you're going through. I have not dealt with that yet, although I'm noticing my Mom at 90 is starting to have some memory and understanding issues. I'm very worried about her as she is 1,000 miles away from me and lives alone. I have a good friend who went through that with her dad. It was very hard on the whole family. Do you have a mom or other family for a support system? Since your dad is obviously younger than your grandmothers, he may have some underlying health or nutritional issue that is causing memory problems. It could be something that can be treated. He should see a doctor.
I wish you the best, and we're here if you want to talk.
I'm sorry hun.....I know you love your dad very much and want the best for him. I know you love your grandma too. I hope and pray the best for you and them. You're so sweet....I know you are good to them and are there for them! LU!
