Living with Cirrhosis
Hello my name is Kim and i have been diagnosed with Cirrhosis 2yrs ago. I am here to gather as much information as possible wanting to learn as much as I can.Lately tho I have been experiencing new things, I am having trouble concentratin, focusing, remembering things, blurred vision, for the last 2 weeks i have been having trouble sleeping. I have other health issues along with this I have COPD,emphysema (spelling_),high blood pressure. And in August of last yr I had a simple knee scope done, with a spinal, and after the spinal wore off they asked me to get up I said ok but when I tried i got my right leg down but i was unable to move my left leg. so the outpaitent turned out to be a 7 day stay in the hospital, and still to this date I am still doing theraphy to try to get the leg to have movement and no such luck :( so I have alot of things goin on:(
So I was wandering if any of these sypmtoms that i am starting to have for the last few weeks has anything to do with the liver..I called the liver specialist today and talked with the nures she is going to give the details to the doctor and she will let me know what i need to do tomorrow..ok I think I took up enough of your time and any input would be greatly honered :)
Thanking you in advance
Xanax is a benzodiazepine drug.
(Usually cirrhosis patients are told to avoid benzodiazepines because they can cause encephalopathy problems to become worse.)
Is your husband seeing a hepatologist?
Does your doctor have you on a low fat diet? Fatty foods can cause nausea (and sometimes pain and other problems) for cirrhosis patients.
(Plus with your gallbladder gone, you could have even more troubles trying to digest fatty foods.)
P.S. - Sometimes the leg cramps can be caused by electrolyte problems.
So let your doctor know about the cramps. (Your doctor can run some quick and simple bloodtests to rule out electrolyte problems.)
