How to deal with the chronic horrible pain of RSD??
I tried counselor after counselor and got nothing out it. Started doing a lot of scientific journal reading and 'interviewing' as many people as I could. The thing that came up most frequently was the use of EMDR as a therapy. I cannot tell youths difference it has made. I can actually laugh!
Even if every week is too expensive every other week is good because your can learn to get yourself to that point. You just need to make sure the self techniques are done properly. I also use self-hypnosis for anxiety, sleep and behavior.

I do self hypnosis, also. I meditate, when I can. I've never heard of emdr, so I just looked it up. I'll see if it is something I can work on on my own. The eastern style of healing seems to work well with me, but things seem to have progressed too far for even that to help. I have an appointment on Monday where I am going to make my pain dr. discuss every avenue we have, try something new, and reduce the meds. You don't know how good it is just to talk to someone who knows. Correction, YOU do. It has already helped, so I want to thank you. I've been down the depression spiral once before and recognized the signs, but it just seems damn hard to pull yourself out of it. Let me know how the trial run of the neuro-stimulator goes for you. I did find out that there is a Buddhist temple with open meditation classes on Sunday mornings. I prefer eastern options as well. Acupuncture is another indulgence. How much it helps I don't know. I do know I feel better after, whether its the two hours of time to myself, the acupuncture itself or a combination of the two. After 13 years I don't care if something is simply relaxing or medically beneficial, if I feel better its worth it. The other small thing that has helped is to read a Taoist meditation daily. It helps set the tone for the day. I also have been using a multivitamin and vitamin D. My mood seems to be better. Anyway, take care and please let me know how your appt goes. Best of luck to you.
