Chemo regimen reduction
Has anyone out there required a reduction in their chemo medication doses because of recurrent side effects - neutropenic fever, etc? How is it going?
My chemo was reduced at the end, due to cumulative toxicity. Among the eight drugs I received, two were different forms of adriamycin, known as doxorubicin or "red bull." In its pegylated liposomal form, it produces what is known as "hand and foot syndrome", in which the skin on hands and feet forms plaques and peels. However, toward the end of a chemo regimen, there is ideally less cancer to fight, so a dosage reduction is warranted if the side effects increase.
Thanks for sharing. You have been through a lot. Hang in there!
