Recovering Pill Addict

It has now been almost 70 days for me---CLEAN!!!!!! YIPEE!!!!!!!! Sorry I have not written in a while, since I have been sober, I have been keeping myself busy. I have been working out five days a week, reading new books, and spending a lot of time with my 2 1/2yr old daughter-she keeps me extremely busy. I got a call the other day from an old friend and of course I am sure he was hinting around to cop some pills. He says he is off of them one week and than does them another week-we all know that story way to well. My little sister is spiraling down hill with her pill abuse. My mom wants me to talk to her and see if I can help her out. I am still dealing with my own demons, but I am a lot stronger than I was before. We all know to well that she has to really WANT it for herself and NOT her daughter. I tried to quit so many times through the twelve years of my abuse, but always for the wrong reasons.

Hi acheli, It's so great to hear from you. Congratulations on 70 days! Way to go! We have to put our recovery first above all else. You are right in that your sister has to want it for herself. Until I did this for myself, it didn't work. I also had to surrender and admit defeat. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. I did alot of that until I admitted complete defeat and surrendered all to God as I understand Him. I went to AA. AA, God, family, friends and support sites like this one have helped me. I pray you continue growing in your recovery. Remember to keep taking it one day at a time and keep your recovery first. Keep sharing with us. We are always here for you. ((((hugs))))
