Livin' Life On My Term

Hi ppl, jus found this site a couple hours ago. I just completed my 3rd day of tapering. I'm addicted to hydrocodone. This is my first relapse, I relapsed in Jan 2010 after 7 Months of not using. However, I had been on sub for 5 months. Pill abuse is rampant in my community which I'm only stating b/c many ppl tell me that a) I'm right back to where I was ( I disagree ). B) that getting off hydro is next to impossible w/out. Sub.

I do not want to go the sub route again as w/drawels are still present once I no longer have sub. What I am doing is tapering, doing 12.5 mgs daily until sat I will attempt to go down to 10 mgs. This has worked so far, but if a stressor arrives my mgs usually go up. Thas where this group comes in. I have to older sons out of the house and my young daughter who lives w/ me. I want to put it down before she picks it up.

Hi Purple_rain, Welcome to SupportGroups.com. Have you done this type of tapering off of hydrocodone before? I always suggest seeing a doctor when a person stops anything. I certainly understand why you are doing this and your concern for your daughter as I have 3 daughters of my own. Keep sharing with us here and letting us know how you are doing. Keep taking it one day at a time. We are here for you. ((((hugs))))
