Getting started....again

Wow! I am excited and quite nervous about seeing my fertility specialist in hopes becoming pregnant. So here is a little history of me and what I've gone through.

I got married when I was 21 yrs old. We didn't want to have kids right away but we never used protection and just went with "if it happens it happens" philosophy. After several years and realizing that my cycle was highly irregular we went to the ob/gyn and had some tests done. My progesterone levels are too low and my hubby is fine. Since my levels are low I don't ovulate. The doctors put me on clomid in order to get me to ovulate. I went through several treatments, and after not getting pregnant we stopped "trying". It wasn't until 2006/2007 that we started trying again. We got tested over again, I was put on clomid again, and went in for blood work often so they could determine if the clomid was helping. Since we were not conceiving on clomid the ob/gyn decided that I needed to have an HSG.

Approximately 3 years ago I hand an HSG done and found that my falopian tubes were blocked. They said they could do a "tubal recanalization" to unblock my tubes because from the x-ray it appeared there was no scaring or anything that would cause it to be blocked....

After the tubal recanalization we were put back on clomid since my hormone levels were still off. After 2 to 3 months of that not working we decided that we again were going to quit trying.

Now, here we are and after hearing of friends and family becoming pregnant...we've decided we want our miracle too. We want to try IVF....It is scary and new but for us it seems our last hope for children of our own.

Our first appointment with our fertility doctor is on April 8th. That seems like forever from now.....Wish us luck!
