I'm losing it.

The other day I was talking to my best friend, whom I've known since I was eleven, about how hard it is for me to even think about coming out to my family. Her response, and I quote, "Oh yeah, I forgot you're a lesbian." I wish i was kidding. I've been struggling with this for years now, I've been in various LGBT clubs and such. I even have a few shirts (that i hide in my sock drawer so my family doesn't find them) that express my disapproval of prop 8 and being proud to be a lesbian, and she forgets? I might just be making a big deal out of nothing but I always thought i could go to her for everything and she says that, it makes me feel like she doesn't really care or that she's having a hard time accepting it. Oh well... I guess I'll let it go.

On another note, my sexuality became the topic of discussion in my drama class. Why? I couldn't even say. I sat there with a clearly irritated look on my face and watched as one woman tried to prove I was making up being gay... honestly? Luckily for me I made a friend in that class and she stood up for me. It just surprises me that people will make that big of a deal about it...
