why

I am the sister of an addict for over 23 years. She has reproduced and for the last seven years of my neice's life she has been with me. I also have 2 of my own. I am a LPN and I love what I do. I just don't understand why she can not stop. I have offered her unlimited freedom from my neice. Just give her too me save everyone the hurt. Jaime loves her mommy. But she just throws it all away every time she uses again. I am really tierd, my mother never lived to see my sister sober. Bless her heart. I have gone every ave. possible to get help. But she still thinks she can raise jaime on her own. Which she can when she is sober. Please if any one can offer me some, not advice, not sympath, just a good old fashion why?

Hi booboo2419, Welcome to SupportGroups.com. Has you sister ever tried to get help for herself? Have you ever attended Alanon and/or Naranon?

These are the links for those sites:

Have you ever thought to do an intervention?
These are some links on intervention:

A person has to be willing to to get help. As long as a person is living there is always hope.

Your niece is so very lucky to have you. Please keep sharing. We are here for you. ((((hugs))))
