new here

Im new to this. I have battled depression all my life. I am not sure where to turn now. I am at a cross roads in my life. I get really depressed here just me and the kids most of the time, no real close friends, well i have one but I withdraw and dont talk and I should open up more.. I get down.. then to try to feel better I spend money we dont have or use money intended for something else. Then I have to lie to cover up. That just causes all new problems. Hubby has been through this so much with me he is at the end of his rope. Who could blame him. Trying to take the positive steps forward to be a better person and not lie and hurt him any more.... hoping this site will be a tool of support and release and possible friendships for me....

Hey kdb,

How are you feeling today? How many kids do you have? I think you should absolutely seek help for your depression, talking to your GP should be the first step. I have battled with depression for 8 years and I've recently started taking anti-depressants which are working wonders.

Sometimes it can be more difficult to open up to someone we know, out of fear of being judged...or out of the fear of us judging ourselves. You should consider seeking therapy. It may feel like your hubby is at the end of his rope but I'm sure he would be overjoyed to think that you were willing to get help. I'm sure spending money is giving you the immediate release you require but in the long run it hinders you because it causes worry, stress and a distance in your relationship...you definitely need to figure out what is going on under the surface.

Try not to withdraw from you friend. If you are not comfortable talking about your depression with them, you can always keep your conversations the way they are with that person, and who knows maybe down the line as you are figuring this out, you may feel more comfortable talking more openly about this.

Hope you are having a good day.

If you want to chat drop me your email

Warmest Regards
Moongal x
