How Far Can One Go.

I just want to know from someone who who has been there, or who knows from experience how far can, or will a man go to support his addiction to beer and crack!

For myself, to the point of almost dying physically. I had died emotionally, mentally and spiritually. There are many who have died.

The drugs strip the man/woman of any self-esteem or self-respect. I know because my husband was just sentenced to 5-1/2 years in prison for armed robbery - done to support his habit. No one can help them until they are ready to stop the cycle.

Obviously there is a lot more to this, but my husband was a respected businessman, member of the community, never been in any trouble with the law (other than a couple of DUI's 20+ years ago), husband, father, even grandfather who was powerless over the pull of addiction. He robbed a store, with a knife to make sure he didn't run out of pills. Those who know and love him are victims of his drug abuse also. Now he is drug-free and facing the consequences of his lifestyle. Please don't let this happen. There is help out there - if you or your loved one is addicted, get help - search until you find it. If the one who is addicted were to give just a fraction of effort in seeking help that they put into getting the drugs, trust me, they can find a way out. Sometimes they have to lose everything before their eyes are open. Don't lose yourself waiting for someone else to make the right decision.
