I'm moving on

Never done this before....quit counseling a few mos back b/c my therapist was a "smug married" & just didn't seem to get it. Most times, I'm ok - I remember that I lost 40 lbs in one yr, bought my 1st hm, and am successful at my job. Then there are nights like last night, when I remember 5/8/09: I was making portabello mushroom caps stuffed w/ ground sausage. My husband sat me down & asked for a divorce. I screamed, cried, begged him not to do this. He then told me that he had made an "emotional connection" w/ someone on facebook. 2 months later, I had bought a condo 45 min from him, &, by September, had filed for divorce. This man was emotionally & physically abusive to me, as well as being an alcoholic, but I still didn't want to leave. Funniest part? He left me for a 300 lb "psychic vampire priestess" - I STILL laugh over that. I've read that divorce is one of the hardest things to overcome, & by god, I'm trying. I'm at the point now that I am consciously refusing to think of myself as a victim, rather I'm a survivor. I'm even getting better @ not heckling the jewelry/wedding commercials on TV - my standard MO is to talk to the TV @ say, "Forget it, babe, he'll be dumping you in 5 yrs (the length of my marriage). Go cheap on the dress & don't take the tags off." Ah, you gotta laugh sometimes....
