ugh,

i think this is so sad that little 9 year olds would even think they are fat and get an eating disorder !! i mean what kind of 8 or 9 year old would have this bright idea to starve themselves to death or go throw up after every single meal they even eat? i wonder if these kids even know what anorexia nervosa and bulimia nervosa is anyway. this is just horrible how they can get sucked into these kind of things so quickly at such a young age. does anybody know why? please tell me.

I'm not sure if this is what your looking for, but I think it's because of some experience they had being called fat, or teased for the baby fat they still have at that age, which is normal.

When I was around that age my father and my uncle were outside drinking, I was waiting for my mom to finish talking to my aunt so we could go home. Suddenly they laughed and call me fat, my mom got angry of course; I'm 18 about to be 19 and that night has never left me. I still see their laughing faces and pointing at me before saying that word.

I didn't starve myself right away, I became obsessed with exercising and dieting first, then over the years I limited what I ate. Even if I never completely stopped eating, I made sure I ate one cup of ramen a day, my mom is the over-reactor type. It made me angry cause she was a size 3 in juniors when she got married and says I'm not fat.

Hope this is something close to what you were looking for.
