urges

i dont know whats getting to me now. i turned 18 on february 18. and ive just had this urge to drink alcohol. it might be because my mom is addicted to it, im around that age, or its just in the family. when i was at somebodys house for something, my grandma let me have just a tiny sip of hers. i really didnt like it. i thought it was just disgusting.

Hi iluvmydoglacey92, Welcome to SupportGroups.com. I went to AA for help with my alcohol addiction. There it was shared with me that only I could decide if I was an alcoholic. Have you drank before? If so, how much? Could be that it is because of alcohol addiction being in your family. It does seem to appear to run in families. I have 3 daughters. There father doesn't have a problem with alcohol but I do. I shared with them that if they drink, they take a chance of being addicted to it also. I have seen them when they drank and after. 2 of them show signs of having addictive personalities.
