This is not easy. But God is always there for me.

It just seems that my problems are accumulating more and more every day now that I am sober. But that is not the case. You see, now I am facing my problems face to face instead of running away from them. For the first time in so many years I am beginning to grow little by little confronting my problems. I am beginning to learn to have patience. One day at a time. And like they say in AA. Dont think about your problems right now. Think about your recovery. Its hard for me to just forget about the mother of my children and my children and just focus on me, but at the same time if I do this I will be prepared and ready to have them back. AA teaches me that time and sobriety together will bring back everything. And I believe it so much. You see....uncertainty of the future is what is killing me, yet I do wrong by doing so. Take it day by day. Its not easy, but God is always there for me.

Hi nuevavida, It certainly can seem like once we get sober everything that can happen - does. The saying I have heard is "The good news is you get your emotions back; the bad news is you get your emotions back." You are right to focus on you and your recovery. You must always keep your sobriety first above all else.

Have you gotten a sponsor yet? If so, then I suggest you talk to them about what you have shared here. Keep hanging in there, going to meetings and taking it one day at a time. It does get better. Keep sharing with us and letting us know how you are doing.
