An update

It's almost been a week since everything happened and I'm still living at home, with both my parents. My mom thinks that change can happen and I guess she just has hope in everything getting a little better -- not overnight, but I guess over time. I talked to my father after everything horrible happened and I can't say that I completely broke-though him but I haven't communicated with him on that level at all. We both started crying when I told him that I didn't want to grow up and look back and reflect on our shattered relationship. So far, no more episodes like what happened last week have occurred. My boyfriend is still one of my biggest pillars of support and I feel blessed that people on this site and my friends are all here for me and willing to help me out. I hope that things get better. I don't want to keep thinking negative thoughts about everything. I've spent most of my life thinking negatively and hardly thinking about positive things. I guess a change in my family and in myself is whats needed to move on.

Oh and I get asked my age a lot in my comments and I'm 20 years old, going on 21 in January.

Hi blueberry24, I am glad that you were able to talk to your dad and that things are better. You mom is right - change can happen. You sometimes we can help by giving out positive vibes ourselves. Be the change we wish to see in the world. It is great that your have your boyfriend to talk to. It always helps me to have others to talk to. Keep hanging in there and taking it one day at a time. Keep sharing with us. We are all here for you. ((((hugs))))

Blueberry, I'm so proud of you, that took alot on your part to go forward w/communicating w/your dad & in the long run it will help all of you & practise makes perfect, so keep up the positiveness & set the example & all will probably follow w/you, it always takes effort on all parties attitudes for things to work. So ATTA girl job well done & keep it up.

Thinking of you.

April
